Technical Support Analyst, Information Technology


Reporting to the Director of Information Technology, the Technical Support Analyst will be responsible for providing support for all applications and hardware to users via the phone, e-mail and in person.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Respond to information or help requests received via telephone, e-mail, or in person
  • Log requests into helpdesk tracking system
  • Provide first-level IT support by applying known solutions to problems, or performing basic research
  • Update tracking database by entering the solution applied, and closing the call ticket
  • Configure tablets, notebooks and desktops according to established standards
  • Perform basic hardware maintenance and repairs
  • Deliver PCs to new employees 
  • Be able to configure and troubleshoot various Smartphone devices (iPhones, Samsung, Blackberry etc.)
  • Diagnose and resolve network issues
  • Monitor and manage database and file backups
  • Manage and monitor phone system
  • Troubleshoot and resolve user application issues
  • Assist users on how to use the applications
  • Grant users access to applications
  • Assist with special projects as necessary


  • Post secondary education focused in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field, or equivalent training and experience
  • 1 – 2 years of direct help desk support experience in a Corporate environment
  • Knowledge of Windows Server 2008/2012. Knowledge of networking equipment(routers, switches etc)
  • Operating knowledge of Windows based Client/Server Operating environments
  • Basic knowledge of networking, firewall and VPN
  • Ability to configure Blackberry, iPhones and Android devices
  • Have excellent spoken & written English communication skills, interpersonal skills, and the ability to present training material in an instructor and/or consultant role
  • Strong organizational skills, including the ability to plan, prioritize, coordinate, and monitor a significant number of projects simultaneously
  • Sets high standards for work quality, is self-directed, and committed to continuous improvement
  • Works effectively in a team environment and able to modify interpersonal style to work effectively
