Vice President, Sales, Starlight Capital


Reporting directly to the Senior Vice President, National Sales & Distribution, the Vice President, Sales, is a leader in their field and works as part of a sales team to achieve and exceed a specific sales target from a select channel of Investment Advisors within a defined sales territory.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Focus on generating sales from IIROC and MFDA advisors in a predetermined sales territory
  • Conducting weekly 1-on-1 meetings and Branch Presentations working in conjunction with the Sales support team to ensure continued support for Starlight Capital products
  • Identifying new business opportunities, establishing relationships accordingly and responding to the specific needs of new and existing clients
  • Provide product feedback, marketing and competitive intelligence and sharing sales and product ideas with the Sales and Marketing team
  • Update and leverage CRM – Salesforce – for data tracking, sales forecasting, budgeting, sales campaigns
  • Manage territory expenses appropriately, to ensure the territory’s budget is on target.  This includes: co-op, travel, promotional items and entertainment


  • Education level: University / College Degree or equivalent experience in the investment industry
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the financial services industry
  • Understanding of capital markets, sales practices, product development, pricing & structuring, industry compensation models
  • Technical skills and knowledge: CFA/CAIA/CIM, Sales training – Fusion, Sequoia or equivalent are all positives
  • Commitment to continuous learning to enhance professional growth and effectiveness within the Starlight Capital Sales Team
  • Proven track record achieving sales targets and driving sales growth
  • Regular overtime will be required for the role
  • Extensive travel will be required for the role
