Transaction Analyst, Canadian Multi-Family


Reporting to the Director, Investments (DI), the Transaction Analyst is responsible for the coordination of acquisition processes and analysis of investment opportunities.  Duties include updating documentation, liaising with stakeholders, maintaining underwriting models and closing out transaction files.

Duties and Responsibilities

Assist with all aspects of a transaction from inspection coordination to internal approvals and reporting.
  • Manage schedules and timelines as prioritized by the DI for completion of tasks related to acquisition activities
  • Prepare and analyze data for strategic review by the DI and other Executives
  • Coordinate acquisitions, ensuring that the due diligence is completed in an accurate and timely manner
  • Coordinate internal kick-off meeting and due diligence or financing inspections
  • Source 3rd party due diligence proposals
  • Update financial models with due diligence findings
  • Obtain all necessary signatures on proposals and other necessary documentation
  • Provide executed proposals to finance for processing and closing statement
  • Ensure that 3rd party reports are received before the prescribed deadline(s)
  • Assist with the review of 3rd party reporting and preparation of due diligence summaries and reporting
  • Receive and manage invoices to be paid upon closing
  • Prepare the due diligence roll-up
  • Coordinate internal take-over meeting with Asset Management to coordinate review and communication of the final due diligence findings
  • Coordinate inspections and third parties
  • Regular updates with the investments team and President on deal status
  • Ensure compliance with all obligations and covenants
  • Ensure all post closing undertakings are finalized and completed
  • Ensure seamless handover with finance and asset management
  • Coordinate post closing debriefs
  • Help to develop processes and best practices
  • Prepare and populate closing checklists
  • Other initiatives as required


  • 0-3 years work experience in an analysis-intensive position
  • Bachelor’s degree in commerce, Finance or similar education
  • Client focused and strong relationship building and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to obtain results in a highly demanding environment
  • Able to handle multiple demands, execute complex and dynamic processes, and manage tight deadlines
  • Able to develop and sustain cooperative working relationships, professional and flexible
  • Strong communications skills
  • Strong computer skills with MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint
  • Experience in real estate, multi-residential sector an asset
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Overtime as required
