Senior Analyst, ESG


Overview

Reporting to the Director, ESG, this role is responsible for coordinating sustainability (ESG) performance data and assisting with key projects in support of corporate analytics, target setting, monitoring, and reporting across our real estate portfolio.

This role delivers on our commitment to advance our ESG strategy and helps to differentiate our brand and assets, control operating costs, and enhance asset values.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Gather, monitor and analyze ESG reporting and data management across the portfolio and supporting innovative projects and initiatives, such as with green building certifications (e.g. LEED), employee and tenant engagement, and support strategies that have strong environmental and social impacts for our partners, employees, tenants, and communities.
  • Compile and analyze metrics, track progress and develop summary presentations on sustainability program accomplishments for key stakeholders.
  • Support, oversee and update ESG data management platforms, such as Microsoft Office systems, centralized utility bill management program and data analytics platform
  • Develop necessary reporting dashboards to support the data collection and conduct data analysis to support informed planning and continuous improvement
  • Prepare and create presentation materials with respect to special projects
  • Continuous evaluation and analysis of current ESG processes and best practices using statistical tools across all business lines 
  • Research and summarize findings to ensure the latest ESG trends, standards, climate strategies, incentives and regulations impacting the business are known.
  • Drive socially responsible thinking and action across the company
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree, major in Environmental Science/Studies, Commerce, Environment and Sustainability or related field an asset
  • 2-3 years of relevant experience, preferably in corporate sustainability/ESG reporting, sustainable investing, investment stewardship, and/or environmental sustainability
  • Experience in and/or exposure to the multi-residential sector considered an asset. 
  • Experience with corporate sustainability reporting framework GRESB, including experience in the planning of and preparation for the assessment.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and passion for sustainability issues, disclosure practices, and industry-wide trends as well as the relevance of sustainability issues to the financial services industry
  • Up to date on current ESG strategies, both within our peer group and globally
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to create detailed reports and presentations
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced professional environment 
  • High level of independence with the ability to work under pressure while taking ownership/accountability for primary responsibilities and deliverables
  • Ability to be flexible and adaptable in conjunction with organizational needs
  • Ability to effectively collaborate and communicate cross-functionally
  • Ability to process and analyze large data sets, ensuring a high degree of accuracy
  • Ability to multi-task and to use time management skills to handle workload and competing responsibilities
