Senior Development Analyst, Canadian Multi-Family


Overview

Reporting to the Director of Development the Development Analyst will support the development team in day to day project coordination including research, project modelling and analysis, tracking and reporting on all aspects of the development process.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Conduct research to support all development functions, including acquisitions due diligence, impact fees, utility costs, market analysis, construction costs, entitlements, available sources of financing, design methods, etc.
  • Create and update financial models
  • Maintain and improve financial forecast models for current and future real estate development projects and ensure financial models reflect market realities as well as local and corporate expectations
  • Formulate valuations and forward-looking projections in accordance with strategic development plans
  • Prepare and assist in preparation of valuations, due diligence and returns analyses as required for new and existing development projects
  • Monthly analysis of budget to actuals
  • Collaborate with Development, Asset Management and Capital Expenditures team members on a daily basis
Requirements
  • 2+ years modelling/underwriting experience in an analysis-intensive position
  • Bachelor degree in Commerce, Finance or similar education
  • Financial and excel acumen
  • Client focused and strong relationship building and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to obtain results in a highly demanding environment
  • Able to handle multiple demands and manage tight deadlines
  • Able to develop and sustain cooperative working relationships, professional and flexible
  • Strong computer skills with MS Excel, Word, Powerpoint
  • Experience in real estate, multi-residential development industry an asset
  • Overtime as required
