Manager, Deal Sourcing, Canadian Multi-Family


Overview

Reporting to the Director of Investments, the Manager, Deal Sourcing is responsible for sourcing and managing investment leads for the Canadian Multi-Family Group in accordance with the organization’s policies and procedures.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Leverage the Starlight platform and brand to identify and source new asset purchase opportunities via off-market efforts (e.g. cold calling)
  • Cultivate relationships and promote the considerable benefits in transacting with Starlight directly on sale opportunities
  • Assist with the setup of the new asset purchase program and overall success of the Canadian Multi-Family group
  • Travel between assets; after hour meetings if required
  • Obtain all relevant information on potential opportunities and associated owners
  • Pre-screen prospects
  • Monitor opportunities and the program’s overall effectiveness
  • Prepare reports as required (e.g. Investment Proposals, Asset Summaries, etc.)
  • Book appointments with the vendor and arrange meetings internally to escalate opportunities
  • Tour target properties and amenities
  • Report deficiencies that may impact the asset plan
  • Present the opportunity and benefits of the property
  • Maintain commission records
  • Conduct market comparisons and mystery shops
  • Conduct follow up calls
Requirements
  • Three (3) years of direct work experience in real estate or real estate sales capacity
  • Bachelor’s degree in commerce, finance or similar education
  • Valid driving privilege
  • Persuasive closing skills
  • Computer literacy, including advanced knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and e-mail required
  • Professional, responsive, and positive work attitude is essential
  • Superior telephone skills and excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
