Senior Manager, Strategy & Operations

Overview

Reporting directly to the Director, Strategy & Operations, the Senior Manager, Strategy & Operations will lead projects for our current strategic roadmap. You will build cross-functional relationships, help coordinate, and provide thought leadership to other business lines involved in transformation, to influence the future technology or business roadmap and ensure we execute as a company with a holistic approach. You will need to have advanced critical thinking skills to synthesize information and make optimal choices to transform the business.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage and lead end-to-end large, transformational, and complex strategic projects
  • Assess and recommend scalable business and technical solutions that meet stakeholder and business requirements
  • Gather, Document and Manage business requirements and system design reviews, provide final approval, and ensure all issues are documented and actions addressed in collaboration with the IT Team
  • Bridge the gap between business and technology: aligning goals and execution with Operations, IT, Finance, Asset Management, Analytics, etc.
  • Provide regular status updates to Project Teams and Senior Management as required
  • Responsible for reporting on KPIs on a quarterly basis ensuring data accuracy and timeliness on reporting
  • Communicate and disseminate the quarterly updated corporate strategic plan and its results to various stakeholders
  • Support in managing the pipeline for the Innovation Steering Committee and lead technology identification, assessment, and deployment of prioritized solutions
  • Recommend changes to established methods, propose alternative and new solutions to optimize operations and improve operational efficiency
  • Continuous evaluation and analysis of current business processes and practices using statistical tools across all business lines
  • Be proactive in approach to support Starlight’s growth and future across operations and technology
  • Draft business cases, conduct feasibility studies and complete cost benefit analysis reports on a project-by-project basis
  • Provide support and feasibility analysis regarding the use of technology across business lines
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Post-secondary education including university degree/​college diploma or equivalent experience
  • 3 to 5 years of project, business strategy or consulting experience leading transformational initiatives
  • Project Management Institute Certified(PMP) and/​or relevant courses is an asset
  • Strong MS Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Proven ability to apply a range of recognized methods to manage scope, time, cost, quality, communication and risks
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Detail oriented, self-motivated, and resourceful, with strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong MS Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Proactive and self-directed with demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Able to prioritize, multi-task and able to work in a changing, fast-paced environment
  • Able to deal with confidential information and demonstrate discretion.
