Junior Analyst, Strategy & ESG

Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated Junior Analyst to join our Strategy & ESG team at our corporate office in Toronto. This role offers exposure to strategic planning, sustainability initiatives, and operational excellence projects across multiple business lines. You will contribute to shaping corporate strategy, advancing ESG priorities, and driving continuous improvement. Your analytical skills, problem solving abilities, strong interpersonal skills and overall business process acumen are your most important tools in this role. 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support the refresh and execution of the corporate strategic plan through research, stakeholder engagement, and performance tracking. 
  • Conduct market and competitive analysis to identify opportunities and emerging trends. 
  • Prepare presentations, dashboards, feasibility studies, and cost-benefit analyses for strategic initiatives.
  • Collaborate with business units to identify and implement process improvement opportunities that enhance efficiency and value creation. 
  • Assist in mapping and optimizing business processes using tools such as MS Visio/​Blueworks.
  • Support risk assessments and mitigation planning for strategic and operational initiatives. 
  • Help prepare compliance documentation, reporting, and internal audit materials.
  • Collect, validate, and maintain sustainability data (energy, water, waste, carbon emissions, green building features, wellbeing amenities). 
  • Support ESG reporting requirements (e.g., Annual Sustainability Report, GRESB, regulatory compliance). 
  • Assist in developing sustainability education and training programs for employees. 
  • Support certification processes for green building and wellbeing standards (e.g., BOMA BEST, CRB, Fitwel). 
  • Collaborate on sustainability-driven marketing materials and stakeholder communications.
  • Participate in cross-functional projects involving strategy, ESG, and operations across North American residential and Canadian office portfolios. 
  • Provide ad hoc support to the Strategy & Operations team as required.

Requirements

  • 3rd or 4th year student pursuing an undergraduate degree in Engineering, Commerce, Economics, Finance, or related field. 
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word; familiarity with process mapping tools (MS Visio, Blueworks). 
  • Knowledge of Power BI or other data visualization tools is an asset. 
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. 
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and self-motivated with a strong work ethic. 
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, evolving environment and embrace collaborative teamwork.
  • Demonstrated analytical thinking and problem-solving skills with a focus on delivering results.
