Since our founding in 2011, we have been dedicated to becoming a leader in the world of real estate investing.

2023

Launched Starlight’s first U.K. Build-to-Rent fund with the acquisition of three assets in Manchester, Liverpool and Ashford.

2022

Launched Starlight Western Canada Multi-Family (No. 2) Fund.

Ranked 1^st in Canada Residential (non-listed) Peer Group and 3^rd in the Canada Corporate (non-listed) Peer Group by the Global Real Estate Sustainability Benchmark (GRESB).

2021

Issued our first Environment, Social & Governance (ESG) Report.

Launched Starlight Western Canada Limited Partnership, the first of two closed-end funds focusing on newly-constructed multi-residential residences in Western Canada.

Starlight U.S. formed the Sherrin Partnership with two global institutional investors to target Multi-Family real estate in the Sunbelt and Mountain markets of the United States.

2020

Completed the largest multi-residential transaction in Canadian history, privatizing Northview Apartment REIT.

Formalized our Environment, Social & Governance (ESG) Roadmap.

2019

First of three co-mingled high net worth and global institutional funds established, focused on Canadian multi-residential residences.

Canadian Residential portfolio acquired during its initial public offering on the Toronto Stock Exchange.

2017 - 2018

Created three new institutional investment joint ventures for investment in Canadian and U.S. multi-residential residences.

Listed Starlight U.S. Multi-Family (No. 1) Value-Add Fund on the TSX Venture Exchange.

Starlight Capital formed for investment in listed global real estate and infrastructure securities geared towards retail investors.

2015 - 2016

Largest Canadian multi-residential REIT merger completed between Northern Property REIT and True North Apartment REIT.

Strengthened institutional platform with new joint ventures focused on Canadian and U.S. Multi-Residential platforms.

2013

U.S. Multi-Residential platform created, focusing on U.S. Sunbelt and Mountain markets.

The first of nine closed-end funds are listed on the TSX Venture Exchange.

2012

Apartment REIT, our privatized TSX-listed predecessor, acquires 10,000 Canadian multi-residential suites.
True North Apartment REIT listed on TSX, expanding our Canadian Multi-Residential platform.
True North Commercial REIT listed on TSX, launching our Canadian Commercial platform.

2011

Starlight established as an institutional real estate asset and investment manager focused on Canadian multi-residential residences.
