Senior Analyst, Investments

Overview

Based in the Toronto Office, this is a new role supporting international business lines. Reporting to the Senior Vice President, the Senior Analyst supports all investment related activities relating to U.S. Residential, U.K. Residential, and other expansion markets.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Prepare financial underwritings and market analysis in support of multi-family real estate acquisitions and dispositions across the U.S., U.K, and other expansion markets.
  • Prepare the investment memoranda, acquisition proposals, and strategic reports to senior leadership and joint venture partners.
  • Prepare quarterly re-forecasted returns for projects and funds and partnerships with forward purchases.
  • Prepare quarterly historical returns tracking for existing funds and partnerships.
  • Contribute to and maintain deal pipeline in U.S. and expansion markets.
  • Contribute to the quarterly and annual appraisal process for various funds and partnerships.
  • Support all aspects of deal diligence, including financial modeling, third-party reviews, market assessments, and coordination with legal and operational stakeholders.
  • Support the Finance team to support the debt financing of new acquisitions and communicate effectively with lenders and financial institutions.
  • Support all capital raising activities, as needed, for new U.S., U.K., or expansion market funds and partnerships. 
  • Communicate effectively with brokers, lenders, internal Starlight teams and other market participants.

Requirements

  • 3 – 5 years of relevant work experience in an analysis-intensive position.
  • Bachelor degree in Commerce, Finance or similar education.
  • Client focused and strong relationship building and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to obtain results in a highly demanding environment.
  • Able to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
  • Able to develop and sustain cooperative & professional working relationships.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Strong computer skills with MS Excel, Word, Powerpoint.
  • Experience in real estate with a focus on multi-residential sector is an asset but not required.
