Sneak Preview Given of Riverview Development

Toronto – August 16, 2017 – More than 500 people packed Queen Street Saturday (Aug. 12) for the grand opening leasing event for Riverview, the new 10-storey apartment building nearing completion in the heart of Hespeler.

Officials with Starlight Investments, the owner- operator of the building, said in a press release the response to the grand opening launch was overwhelming and the 153-unit luxury apartment building is well on its way to full occupancy.

The new apartment building will see its first tenants begin move-in this November. Most of the units in the building, now dubbed Riverview, feature large balconies and views of the mill pond, its dam and the Speed River. The units feature numerous amenities, including a designed rooftop terrace with televisions and views of Hespeler, a state-of-the-art fitness centre and an expansive residents’ lounge. A 1,600-square-foot commercial unit is also currently being marketed for lease on the ground floor with an outdoor patio fronting Queen Street.

The weekend’s launch featured three model suites with a rental office, a lobby, fitness centre, and resident lounge. A number of local vendors were on-hand on the outdoor patio providing free food and gifts for attendees.

Starlight is pleased to have partnered with HIP Developments to help grow and become a part of the Hespeler community,” stated Daniel Drimmer, founder and CEO of Starlight Investments, in a news release. We are proud of the quality of this newly built luxury rental building, with spectacular views of the Speed River, and we look forward to welcoming our new residents to their new home.”

Riverview is a part of the $50-million redevelopment of the former American Standard property by local real estate developer HIP Developments and its construction partner Melloul-Blamey. The former industrial property has been vacant since 2007 and also features the conversion of the historic riverside mill building into 42 loft units by HIP Developments.

The redevelopment and rejuvenation of the former industrial site has been a landmark project for HIP,” said Scott Higgins, president of HIP Developments, in the press release. Hespeler has become such a vibrant village. With more than 300 people set to move into Riverview and the adjacent Riverbank Lofts, the future of the village and its businesses is bright.”
