Starlight Developments’ Bella Vista Rental Community Now Fully Leased in Central Saanich

Starlight named Developer of the Year at the 2025 Capital Region Commercial Building Awards in Victoria, BC

Central Saanich, B.C. – December 2, 2025 – Starlight Developments (“Starlight”) is pleased to announce that Bella Vista, its 235-suite rental housing community on the former Marigold Nursery site, is now fully leased. The full leasing of the development, which was unanimously approved by Central Saanich council in 2022, represents a significant milestone in addressing the district’s rental housing shortage.

The two six-storey buildings on Hackett Crescent, off Lochside Drive, completed construction in January 2025 and are already fully leased, delivering high-quality rental homes to residents. The project includes eight affordable homes and a wide array of amenities such as a fitness center, co-working spaces, rooftop terraces with stunning views and an on-site dog run; each suite is pet friendly. 

Bella Vista features a suite mix of high-quality studio, one-bedroom, two-bedroom and three-bedroom layouts. With proximity to major highways and public transit, nearby hiking and biking trails, and short drives to the Victoria International Airport and Sidney Ferry Terminal, Bella Vista stands out as a highly livable community. 

As part of the development process, Starlight also invested in pedestrian improvements to the surrounding area and included a pedestrian right-of-way to a neighbouring property. 

The need for rental housing in Central Saanich has been acute, with no new rental projects built between 1977 and 2013 – leading to inadequate supply to meet the current demand. 

Starlight has been active in the region, recently announcing the groundbreaking of Harris Green Village in Victoria. The city’s largest multi-family housing project to date, upon completion the three-phase, mixed-use community will bring over 1,500 new rental homes to the downtown core.
