Toronto – April 13, 2023 – Starlight Investments (“Starlight”) is pleased to announce that one of its commercial properties located in Ottawa, Ontario, has been successfully recertified and has been awarded LEED O+M Platinum certification.
The 11-storey commercial building in Ottawa’s downtown core first achieved LEED O+M Gold certification in 2019. Since then, maintaining and enhancing sustainability efforts has been a priority for Starlight company-wide and at this property. With strong energy performance, a focus on indoor environmental quality, and engagement initiatives the property was recently awarded LEED v4.1 O+M: Existing Buildings recertification.

The improvement from Gold to Platinum demonstrates Starlight’s collective commitment to sustainability and acts a direct benefit to property management and building occupants. Continuing to successfully recertify through LEED O+M ensures that Starlight continues to improve efficiency, enhance occupant well-being, and create inclusive and complete communities.
Starlight, property management and key tenants of the property collectively worked together to implement sustainability measures in the building to enhance comfort, convenience and efficiency. Some of the most meaningful additions include additional LED lighting, better occupant controls and better tuned equipment, an improved organics recycling program, green cleaning measures, and enhanced indoor air quality maintenance are a few of the key additions made to the property since 2019.
