Senior System Administrator, Information Technology


Reporting to the Senior Manager of Information Technology, the Senior System Administrator will be responsible for managing IT infrastructure and security.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Responsible for VMWare/ESX (recent versions) virtualization technology, including the installation and support of ESX and VMWare VCenter as well as exposure to other VMWare products. 
  • Hands-on experience with network or endpoint security-related hardware and software, network and host-based intrusion prevention system, Firewalls with High-Availability and Load-Balanced Setup. 
  • Ability to Setup IPSEC VPN, SSLVPN, TLS, PKI and good understanding of cryptography, application control, EDR, DLP, Threat Response Handling, ATP, GEO-IP Filtering etc.
  • Experience with MDM, MFA Applications.
  • Excellent knowledge in AD, DNS, GPO Management, DHCP, DFS etc.
  • In-depth experience with Azure and Office 365 Platforms specialized in develop and administer security Applications to name a few but not limited only to Azure Network Security Groups, Azure Storage, Azure Web Apps, Power BI, Azure Backup, SharePoint.
  • Respond to Escalated Service or help desk requests received via phone, email, in person or any other Channels.
  • Support the team as required in day-to-day operational and support activities of the network related changes, desktop, laptop, workstations, cellphones setup and end user support as needed.
  • Well versed in troubleshooting any kind of hardware including Configuring tablets, laptops, and desktops according to established standards and perform basic hardware maintenance and repairs.
  • Deliver PCs to new employees on the negotiated start date and maintains inventory of end user components and equipment.
  • Maintain Backups for Applications, Files etc., and perform restore operations on-demand. 
  • Experienced in maintaining patches for Windows clients, Windows servers as per the scheduled timeline and testing the patches prior to deployment.
  • Control the operation of services related to all local area networks and wide area networks, while adhering to company policies and procedures.
  • Provide control measures for LAN/WAN security, anti-virus, and email security system. 
  • Assist in and/or implement the design of information security controls to all in-house hosted Web applications, SAAS Applications, and network software/hardware.
  • Responsible for monitoring systems and protect from cyber threats for email, files, backups etc.
  • Maintain all documentation up to date in particular network diagrams, account information, troubleshooting practices, Business process and network information.
  • Assist in the design, implementation, testing, and maintenance of a disaster recovery solution by ensuring all systems and data are up to date.
  • Ability to prioritize the tasks based on impact and able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Experience with Proofpoint system is an asset.
  • Experience with ITIL standards and ISO Implementation an Asset.
  • Must be fully vaccinated.
  • Bachelor’s Degree or Post-secondary education in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field, or equivalent training and experience in the said role.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in the information technology field with 2+ year experience in system security.
  • Experience with Windows Server 2012/2016 and Microsoft Active Directory (AD).
  • Experience with networking devices, firewall and VPN (routers, switches, firewall).
  • Cloud based Software as a Service (SaaS) such as Office 365 and other Microsoft Products.
  • Experience with SANs and Blade Server hardware platform and cloud infrastructure.
  • Knowledge of the System Centre Configuration Managers (SCCM) and System Centre.
  • Experience with Azure backup system.
  • Experience with: Deploying, updating, optimizing, and troubleshooting Windows workstations and laptops in a corporate environment using SCCM.
  • Operating knowledge of Windows based Client/Server Operating environments.
  • Advanced knowledge of PC, laptop, printer hardware, phone systems and software, Adobe, Office 365 products.
  • Must be able to manage multiple issues/projects at the same time.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills and takes initiatives and executes deliverables from start to finish.
  • Good understanding of ITIL processes, technical documentation, and project management skills.
  • Related Azure, VMware certifications are an asset.
  • Strong problem-solver and team player who is confident and challenged in a fast-paced environment supporting a wide range of technologies
  • Works effectively in a team environment and able to modify interpersonal style to work effectively
  • Strong organizational skills, including the ability to plan, prioritize, coordinate, and monitor a significant number of projects simultaneously
