Analyst, Asset Management


Reporting to the Vice President, Asset Management the Analyst will be responsible for the output and analysis of operational and financial reporting, tracking of capital expenditures, assisting in the preparation of annual operating budgets, consolidating due diligence materials for property dispositions/financing, and other ad-hoc projects as required.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Consolidate and analyze financial data for reporting and operational metrics tracking
  • Create, assemble and edit presentations for managers and senior management 
  • Assist in the preparation of full quarterly reporting and prepare any other reporting reasonably requested by the senior analyst, the asset manager and executives from time to time
  • Fully analyze financial results and organize them as required for presentation in the quarterly reports and other reporting as requested for stakeholders 
  • Assist in the creation of operating and capital budgets in accordance with the asset plans
  • Complete market research / comps for the specific submarkets and make recommendations to the Asset Management team based on results, including pricing of units, parking, storage and other services/amenities offered
  • Analyze revenue and expenses, perform variance analysis, identify trends, and make recommendations for improvements
  • Assist with acquisitions, dispositions, financing and other transactions and co-ordination of such due diligence activities as necessary
  • Assist the senior analyst, the asset manager and executives as needed with any other portfolio ad-hoc reporting/project as required 
  • Work closely with asset managers to identify revenue enhancing and value creation opportunities
  • Bachelor degree in Commerce, Business Administration or similar education 
  • 1-3 years of experience in real estate or a related field
  • Experience in the multi-residential sector considered an asset
  • Excellent computer skills with MS Excel (Macros, INDEX), Word, Powerpoint
  • Client focused with strong relationship building and interpersonal skills 
  • Ability to obtain results in a highly demanding environment
  • Ability to multi-task and manage tight deadlines
  • Good common sense and business acumen
  • Ability to develop and maintain cooperative working relationships, professional and flexible
  • Outstanding reporting and presentation skills
