Manager, Marketing


Overview

Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer & Chief Operating Officer, the Manager, Marketing is responsible for all marketing activities and oversees the development and delivery of a fully integrated marketing strategy for the business. This includes coordinating, editing and posting marketing collateral for physical and digital channels as well as liaising with external consultants and internal teams.  In addition, the Manager, Marketing will play an integral role in all advertising and promotional activities, including client seminars and roadshows.

Duties and Responsibilities

The Marketing Manager holds ultimate responsibility for the coordination and management of all of the organization’s marketing activities and oversees the development and delivery of a fully integrating marketing strategy for the business.

Marketing

  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of a corporate brand and brand strategy,
  • Work with the executive team to develop the marketing strategy for new and existing products,
  • Overseeing implementation of the marketing and brand strategies - including marketing campaigns, events, digital marketing and promotions,
  • Working closely with the Sales team, enabling them to meet their sales objectives by providing them with appropriate tools, materials and presentations,
  • Oversee French translation of the marketing materials,
  • Oversee external consultants for guiding the creation of the marketing materials,
  • Managing the corporate LinkedIn account, distribution of press releases and posting of marketing materials to the website,
  • Managing e-mail distributions through Pardot,
  • Participation in the development of and adhering to the marketing budget,
  • Manage social media presence to improve social media brand and company awareness,
  • Liaise with Starlight Investments for brand synergy and corporate social media posts.

Other

  • Respond to ad-hoc product-related requests (e.g., Legal, Product Development, Investment Management),
  • Identify and implement consistent operational best practices,
  • Assist with compliance/fiduciary reviews and audits,
  • Lead, coach and develop teams, bringing energy and passion for the business,
  • Comfortable working independently on projects and contributing ideas as part of a team,
  • Maintain a strong knowledge of Starlight Capital's products, processes and procedures,
  • Maintain an understanding of relevant third-party databases (for ex. Morningstar, Globe HySales, Bloomberg).
Requirements

Education / knowledge required: 

  • Education level: University / College Degree or equivalent experience in the investment industry,
  • General skills and knowledge: Understanding of marketing, the asset management industry, mutual funds, ETFs, offering memorandums and sales & marketing compliance,
  • Technical skills and knowledge: Canadian Securities Course, Mutual fund courses, CRM (Salesforce and Pardot an asset), French language (written and spoken) an asset, digital marketing.

Experience required: 

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the financial industry in a marketing capacity
