Manager, Due Diligence


Reporting to the Director of Investments, the Manager, Investment Due Diligence is responsible for Canadian multi-family acquisition due diligence, underwriting support and preliminary business plan formulation.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Prepare and analyze investment data for strategic review by the Director of Investments and other Executives
  • Work with the Investments, Asset Management and Capital Expenditures teams to develop an investment plan and finalize the underwriting proforma
  • Coordinate hand-off meetings to review and communicate all due diligence findings and investment plan internally
  • Execute due diligence on acquisitions, ensuring that due diligence is completed and incorporated into the underwriting in an accurate and timely manner
  • Lead pre-due diligence meetings, site inspections, and coordinate onsite due diligence efforts among various internal and external partners
  • Supervise and manage 3rd party consultants
  • Coordinate and review 3rd party reporting related to refinancing and annual appraisal cycles for institutional investors
  • Identify, develop and execute on other initiatives as requested
  • Minimum 3-5 years of relevant experience in a similar role
  • Undergraduate degree in Commerce, Business Administration, Engineering or similar education
  • Client focused with strong relationship building skills
  • Ability to obtain results in a highly demanding environment
  • Able to multi-task, prioritize and manage tight deadlines
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a team player, able to work well with others
  • Strong computer skills with MS Office with advanced skills in Excel
  • Oral and written communication skills
  • Highly organized and analytical with problem solving skills
